Master Vining (business owner and lead instructor) has been in Martial Arts for 37 years. He knows what he's doing, how to teach and instruct others to do so, and has the credentials to back it up (inducted into the Martial Arts World Hall Of Fame in 2012).
As solid as an instructor's credentials may be, that doesn't always make him/her a great teacher. Fortunately, Master Vining is a solid practitioner of his respective arts (Tang Soo Do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Krav Maga). He places a strong emphasis on the basics, and whether it is grappling or striking, movements are broken down in a natural and logical progression. He covers the "whys" and "hows" throughout each lesson.
My kids (6 year old boy and an 8 year old girl) excelled quickly in the environment and culture he set. I appreciate his standards and expectations before, during, and after class. Respect is reciprocated, expected, and earned. Attention is also given to developing strong values and character.
In addition to all of this, they are 100% upfront and honest about their membership fees and contracts. Talk to Yvonne at the front desk and she will be happy to take care of you.
I can't recommend Brick City Martial Arts highly enough. If we weren't moving, my kids would be there every Tuesday and Thursday evening.

Great martial arts. My daughter recently switched from kenpo karate and her kicks are much better than when she was in her old karate. Brick City gives a great amount of one on one help and the classes are a good size compared to huge companies which is better in my mind. Thank you for your help making my daughter strong in mind and body.
I grew up taking Martial Arts and grew into kick boxing, boxing and later I was a MCMAP instructor for the USMC back in the late 90's and early 2000's. I know a little bit when it comes to talking to a person and feeling if they are the real deal or if they are faking the funk for a check. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Cosby Vining, and after talking for a bit I knew this man was legitimate, like what they called Heavyweight Champ Evander Holyfield- The Real Deal, well that is the only way to describe Mr. Vining. For those wanting to learn the discipline of Martial Arts and self defense he is the person I would go see far and wide, no matter what level from beginner to black belt. He has knowledge of all the modern fighting styles and years of experience as a true Master in the Arts. He knew several people I grew up training with including Superfoot Bill Wallace, Joe "The Jaguar" Lewis and even the man everyone knows- Chuck Norris who was my teachers Instructor. He is legitimate, honest full of integrity and knowledge. If you have even been thinking about self defense or martial arts training then don't wait- call Mr. Vining at Brick City Martial Arts today!
